Available Browsers:  Today, Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux all support a variety of different browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, Opera and a few others which are not mainstream.

What Percentage Use Each Browser:

- Internet Explorer = 39.3%

-Firefox = 47.4%

-Safari = 3.3%

-Chrome = 7%

-Opera = 2.1%

What Browsers are used by Mobile Devices: As for computers, there are a variety of browsers for mobile devices: Opera Mobile,  Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla’s Minimo, Google Android, Skyfire, Blazer.

W3C published Web Standards: A group of professional developers and web designers banded together and formed the Web Standards Project (WaSP). The WaSP indentified problems in current web browsers and and advise the browsers to be fixed. The WaSP helped suggest and implement change in Internet Explorer, Opera, and Netscape (helping it become what would be Firefox).

    -Today almost all web browser manufacturers widely support the web standards in order to make their browsers and sites clean, semantic, accessible and standards-compliant.
